Arijac employs a variety of techniques in the execution this charming painting: The background and the bottom third of the surface is quite smooth. The woman's features have more texture to them—especially her hair, eyebrows and eyes, and lips—and they obviously had color scraped away after it was applied to provide detail. Meanwhile, the leaves to the right must have been rendered over the background with a pen.

Signed lower right. Due to the style—and the numeral “88” hand-written on the back of the stretchers—we believe this work was created in 1988.

Condition: Very good in a custom frame.
